Gay Nineties Pizza - Pleasanton - Healthy You Have Options

Gay Nineties Pizza Pleasanton – This is obviously a pizza and Italian joint.  Not a place you should eat regularly if you're trying to lose fat, for reasons that should be clear (a lot of bread and pasta).  However, should you eat here once in awhile, there are ways you can make better choices and not totally destroy your eating plan.

With that said. before you head out to Gay Nineties in Downtown Pleasanton check out my choices below from their menu.

Lunch Menu

Appetizers avoid the dipping sauces and you’ll be ok
  • Hot/BBQ Wings
  • Sauteed Button Mushrooms

Side Orders
  • Side Lunch Salad
  • Italian Sausage
  • Meat Balls, Two

Salads definitely the best options are in this section of the menu…get the dressings on the side and avoid the bread…go with a salad that has meat on it…
  • Cobb Salad – plenty of protein here
  • Albacore Tuna
  • Chicken Caesar

Hot Sandwiches eat only half the bread…and select the salad instead of the soup
  • Chicken Breast
  • Turkey & Mozzerella Cheese

Pizza generally you’ll want to avoid pizza with all it’s bread, but if you go with pizza opt for the thin crust, 8” Baby size so you can select the toppings and keep the portion smaller…you could also get a side salad so you’ll be less likely to want as much pizza

Lee’s Special – has chicken breast and several veggies…this would be my choice

Entrees these are mainly pasta, which you want to avoid…or at the least eat only half the pasta
  • Jambalaya – likely the best option here…just watch the sauce

Beverages hot tea or water…you don’t want to drink calories

Desserts – avoid this section of course

Dinner Menu basically the same as the lunch menu except a little larger salads and the 12” is the smallest pizza you can get…see above for selections
