Fontina Ristorante - Healthy Pleasanton Italian Tonight?

Fontina Ristorante Pleasanton – Another of the many Italian restaurants in downtown Pleasanton, Fontina offers a nice selection of non-pasta items on their menu.  They, like many other downtown Pleasanton restaurants offer brunch on the weekends.  Regardless of whether you go to Fontina for Brunch, Lunch or Dinner you certainly can find plenty of appropriate selections if fat loss and being healthy are your goal.

Before you head out to the Fontina Ristorante in Pleasanton check out my choices below from their menu.

Brunch Menu on the weekends…you’ll want to pass on the complimentary glass of champagne if fat loss is your goal
  • Morning Blast - Three eggs, three crispy honey baked bacons served with roasted Yukon gold potatoes and fresh fruit
  • Eye OpenerThree eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes,and fresh fruits.
  • Most of the Omelets look excellent (Seafood, House, or Chicken Cajun) – I didn’t include the Mediterranean because it doesn’t have meat…but it’s still a great option

Lunch Menu

  • Caprese
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Fruit & Prosciutto
  • House Salad

  • Organic Mixed Greens
  • Baby Spinach & Pear
  • Egg & Bacon Spring Mix

Sandwiches – only half the bread and watch the toppings like mayo…great sides here with each item being served with a small salad and fruit
  • Grilled Chicken Breast
  • Chicken & Mango
  • Smoked Salmon

EntrĂ©e – definitely avoid this pasta section of the menu for fat loss as this will give you too much sugar

Healthy Breakfast Recipe - Pleasanton Residents Tired of Boring Diet?

If you're like me, and most other people, you probably eat the same small selection of foods over and over again.  It's easy, convenient and we're creatures of habit.

However, in an effort to add more variety to my eating, this year I decided to try at least one new recipe per week.  Being very busy, I do the majority of this cooking on the weekends, but I have managed to try a few during the week.

So far I've tried something like 8 different recipes which I'll be sharing on the blog.  These recipes are all out of the Practical Paleo book by Diane Sanfilippo, which is a combination nutrition and cookbook which is very informative and easy to follow.  This is one you'll want to actually get the book...not the kindle edition.

Today I thought I'd share a pancake recipe I've made (neither contain gluten) twice that is quite good.

This one is for Pumpkin Pancakes...these are really good!

Cafe Main Pleasanton - What's the Main thing?

Cafe Main Pleasanton – the food quality here is very good…they use top quality ingredients and make sauces in house…however you must remember that just because it’s “home made” doesn’t always mean it’s good for you.

Cafe Main delivers and they are typically pretty fast when you order, obviously this depends what you select.  Normally I get the house salad with either steak or chicken.  You get flat bread with this, which you should either leave behind or request they not include it with your salad.

Chiantis Ristorante - Pleasanton Italian Variety

Chiantis Ristorante Pleasanton – It's time to start back with some reviews since we are now over a week into the new year.  I caught the bug that everyone seems to be was out of commission these last couple of weeks.  Lets start out with a relatively new Pleasanton Italian restaurant...Chiantis which has been around for almost 2 years....where Casa Madrid was located next door to Rising Loafer.  Like most Italian restaurants the key is to make sure you include adequate protein in your meal as you're faced with a lot of bread, pasta and heavy sauces.
